Make-It Monday - Fractions Book by Alisha Satterwhite

Hi y'all!  I'm Alisha from Texas, and I am very honored to be working with the other talented educators here at iTeach Second!  I JUST started blogging (yes, literally a couple of weeks ago) over at Busy Me Plus Three.  It has always been on my "to do list" to start a blog, but life happened (I am sure you know what I mean)!  Now, I am excited I can venture down that path!

A little about me....I have been married to my best friend for 13 years now and am the mother to two precious kiddos, ages 8 and 9.  Here we are...

I taught 1st grade for 8 years and then stayed home for a couple of years.  That is when I opened my TPT Store.  I LOVED creating products and still do.  Now, I teach second grade and am beyond blessed to work at a great school and with an amazing team.

A popular item in my TPT store is my Fractions Book.  The kiddos and teachers really love this!  It is interactive, fun, and not much teacher prep!  I have used this at stations and as a whole group activity.  It depends on your students.  All you need to do is copy and give to the kiddos!  This is available in color and blacklines!

I worked on the blacklines with my class since we have very limited ability to print in color for individual assignments such as this.  This is a 25 page (1/2 sheet) booklet.  The great thing about this set is that it can be done in sections.  For example, if you are learning about fourths on Day 1 of math, you can just do that section of the book.  It covers fourths, thirds, halves, and wholes.   My kids love that they can color it, cut it out, and glue the pieces on.  It is more of a "puzzle" for them than work!  They absolutely loved making the book!

Included in this packet are also some great posters to display and fraction worksheets that you can use for a grade if needed.

I know your students will love this book as much as mine did! Thanks for stopping by and checking out our blog!  We all hope you find something useful to use in your own classroom! If you are looking for more fun things to do with fractions, be sure and check out my Fractions Set!  Enjoy!
